What is behaviour change?

Behaviour change is focused on building individuals skills, knowledge and confidence to change their habits and behaviours.

Why would enhancing behaviour change be beneficial?

Changing lifestyle behaviours such as trying to exercise more, or eat better are difficult. Even if you are highly motivated to do so, this doesn’t guarantee success. Further, you may be able to make some significant changes over a short period but then find that after a couple of weeks you lose motivation, face setbacks and return to where you previously were. Yet the research shows that you can change and maintain behaviours successfully through applying specific principals of behaviour change from the academic literature. Integrating these principals into programmes helps people build their skills and harness the motivation needed to change. By applying the right behaviour change principals and techniques in the right dose, we can help people get to their goals faster and keep them there longer.

What I offer:

I help businesses, gyms, charities, healthcare professionals and those from the health and wellbeing fields distill the key principals of behaviour change most relevant to their goals. I do this through developing evidence-based health behaviour change programmes for more adherent clients with better long-term results.

I also run training programmes for fitness and health professionals to develop a range of behaviour change skills to apply to their practice.
