I was delighted to be able to contribute to this article, for the Insider which focuses on weight gain when in a new relationship. It is perfectly normal and common to gain weight at the start of a relationship especially if your partner is bigger than you, if this is something that you can relate to and are finding yourself struggling to identify "why" you want to drop the extra weight, and start with small steps to build momentum. If you want to make lasting change, you need to have intrinsic motivation, which comes from within rather than external factors.
