I absolutely loved joining the incredible Dr Laurie Marbas, a renowned clinician and healthy lifestyle specialist to talk about the science of habit formation.
Here are Dr Laurie's key takeaways from our chat:
1. Find a powerful reason for you to change, a reason that benefits you, not someone else. For example, if you’re trying to lose weight, your reason might be to improve your health or feel more confident in your own skin.
2. Find habits that are enjoyable, fun, and not just punishment. If you’re trying to eat healthier, for instance, focus on what you can add to your lifestyle rather than take away. Such as adding in more fruits and vegetables instead of starting with cutting out all of your favorite foods.
3. Focus on the process, not some arbitrary goal. In other words, don’t focus on losing x amount of weight on the scale, focus on making healthier choices each and every day.
We discuss these and other insights into how to stick to your healthy lifestyle goals on the Mora Podcast - listen here!
