Bite Sized Habit Newsflash: 3 healthy habit snippets

If you want to stay informed on the latest evidence-based ways to support your healthy habits you can join the weekly Bite-Sized Habits newsletter here.

-------

“Stop walking through the world looking for confirmation that you don’t belong. You will always find it because you’ve made that your mission. Stop scouring people’s faces for evidence that you’re not good enough. You will always find it because you’ve made that you’re goal. True belonging and self-worth are not goods; we don’t negotiate their value with the world. The truth about who we are lives in our hearts. Our call to courage is to protect our wild heart against constant evaluation, especially our own. No one belongs here more than you.”
Brené Brown

Here is the new list of things to try, watch or read - all healthy habit related. Use them as inspiration or just enjoy the process of feeding your mind with them.

Something to read:

If we are compassionate towards someone else that means that we are aware of their suffering and express feelings of kindness towards them. Yet we tend not to treat ourselves with the same level of kindness. Harsh self-judgement can make us feel isolated and alone. Find out how you can break free of this cycle and learn how to stop judging yourself.

Something to watch:

I mentioned in an earlier newsletter and will no doubt say again, Brené Brown is truly inspirational. If you haven’t heard of her you can start with watching her Ted talk on vulnerability. It's one of the most-watched Ted talks of all time and with good reason.

Something to try:

Give up trying to "perfect" your self-care routine right now. With so much going on at the moment, it's not fair or kind on yourself. So how can we practice the self-care we need when for some of us, just having a shower is the height of our self-care indulgences? Behavioural Activation is one technique that might help:

I hope you a little time to give one of these a go. Remember, there is no pressure - just use them for inspiration to motivation as an when you feel you can or want to.
